Card Drawing October 14, 2019

Good day, soul friends! Hoping your week was amazing and your weekend full of loveliness. The Aries Full Moon always brings a burst of energy. This week has been long and difficult for me but trying to flow with things! I had some trying things come up this weekend and wanted to focus on my family's needs. I appreciate the patience and understanding, as I wasn't able to make time to focus on the card drawing.

Today's guidance is from the Halloween Oracle deck by Stacey DeMarco.

Which card(s) do you feel drawn to today?

Left - 1, Middle - 2, or Right - 3...

Focus on the image and chose which cards you feel drawn to before scrolling down.

Did you choose your card, yet?

........

almost there!

If you selected Card 1:

Owl - Wise Seeing, Wise Action Owls have for thousands of years been part of folklore and have been considered a special or sacred animal. With their huge forward facing eyes and otherworldly appearance, they have been seen as both wise and as harbingers of the supernatural. There are many hundreds of species of owls and almost all are nocturnal and carnivorous. Interestingly, they all have specially designed feathers that enable them to fly silently at night, giving them an incredible hunting advantage… sort of like having a stealth-mode! Many deities were said to be able to change into owls and perhaps the most famous was the Greek Goddess Athena, who was famous for her strategy and intelligence. To this very day, the capital city of Greece, Athens, has Athena’s owl as its symbol. Should the hooting owl come looking for you this Halloween, it indicates the need for wise council or further information before you make a decision. Considered action is warranted. Think before you act emotionally and ensure you think strategically, not impulsively. Owl is magnificent, owl is grace and strength, power and courage, magic and Universal wisdom. Owl is also believing in your own intuitive powers and making wise and rational decisions. It is about seeing the bigger picture, soaring with conviction and knowing how powerful you really are.

If you were drawn to Card 2:

Mummy - Change The ancient Egyptians took death very seriously. Death was not seen as many of us see it - a finality to be dreaded - but as just the beginning of a new life and often eternal life, in a better place, the "afterlife." The practice of honoring and preserving the body through a complex process of mummification was central to ancient Egyptian culture. This was not just a physical embalming process but a carefully enacted ritual process that ensured preservation in the next world. Many other cultures also mummified their dead including the Incas, the Argentineans, the Maori, and may of the cultures of the Torres Strait islands. In our modern horror genres, the mummy has become an icon. From early horror writing at the turn of the century to the very popular films The Mummy and The Mummy Returns, the plot normally revolves around the mummy returning to life and cursing and hunting down the living. The discovery of King Tutankhamen's tombs and other long hidden Egyptian treasures in the 1920's in particular, sparked an explosion in mummy related films and literature. Should you pull the moaning Mummy card from the deck, know that change is inevitable and that no matter how hard you try, things will not be preserved exactly the same way. The card also indicates that this change will be for the better. The endings, the closed doors, the barriers? This is just a healthy pause and an indication that a change of tactics is needed. You are not cursed - you have just developed a pattern. You can take control and change it. This card represents the inevitability of change, and our unwillingness to accept it and attempt to preserve things the way they are now. Today is a day to accept change, it’s going to happen no matter how hard you try to stop it. Change isn’t always bad, though, it’s the nature of the world and is usually for the better.

If you chose Card 3:

Skeleton - Strength Halloween is a scary festival. It is meant to frighten. We are meant to feel the release of being pleasantly scared. We trick-or-treat even though we know that someone may surprise us, we watch horror films knowing they will scare us, we even dress as skeletons who have no flesh at all and their bones are there for all to see! In short, we show our vulnerability at Halloween and our strength in facing our fears too. There is incredible strength in showing vulnerability. It can often be the bravest course of action and the most frightening. More often than not, it is a powerful catalyst for person growth even though we may not be able to perceive that at the time. By showing our true selves and displaying some balanced vulnerability, we can seek and receive greater understanding from others. By admitting that we are wrong or that we don’t have the solution when we are expected to, we leave more room to turn things around faster. By asking for help and support rather than acting as martyrs and feeling resentful shows strength and wisdom, not weakness. Should the Skeleton card bring itself to your attention, dare to show strength and vulnerability if that is what you really feel. Shame, pride, or embarrassment are hefty burdens that need not be carried through the darkest of nights. Tempered courage is what is needed of you now. This is not about aggressive action, it is about knowing when to refuse to back down. It is also about watching out for those who would set you off course with their overbearing ideas or wish to control you. It is having the strength of character and using your divine wisdom to free you from the confines of a situation or person which you have outgrown. This is about having faith in yourself, creating healthy boundaries and, for once, putting your dreams first. It is about harnessing all of your inner resources in equal measure; sparking the creative flame and following through on manifesting your desires.

Thank you for participating in my card drawing for today. I hope that you enjoyed it! Did the card(s) you felt drawn to give you some guidance to think about?
