Mystic Rebel Oracle Deck by The Merhipsy

Hello, soul friends!

Today's review is covering a deck that I received as a gift from the creator, Zoey of @the_merhipsy on Instagram. I had seen it around on her Instagram and thought it was a beautiful and interesting deck and actually had seen some ads on Facebook wanting to add it to my collection, as I loved the catch phrase of these not being your momma's oracle cards. It was a unique one to add into my collection, as well as a different type of Oracle deck with a whole different energy and vibe to it. I love indie decks, and this is exactly why!

I hope you enjoy my review and generous pictures!

Mystic Rebel Oracle Deck

As stated above, I connected with the creator of this deck on Instagram and she offered to send me her decks. She has created this one and the Mystic Rebel Crystal Deck, which I plan on reviewing soon. I thought it was a nice addition to what I already had in my collection. It is a deck that stands out with it's funky and Age of Aquarius vibes, as well as a more modern take that is inclusive. I love seeing the progression of decks to include various people, tattooed, multi-colored, fun hair, and also more representative of how life is.

Here is the description from her Website:

The Mystic Rebel Oracle Deck is intended to help the conscious creators and wild women of this world tap more deeply into their intuitive gifts. It provides you with a tool to experience a connected dialogue with your Guides.

Be warned though, these ain’t your mama’s Angels cards. This ish is for those next gen mystics with rebel souls who are ready to unleash their inner enchantress!

Though they are pretty bad a$$, each of these 46 cards holds messages tenderly relayed with love from your Angels and Spirit Guides to help you discover and claim your most blessed and abundant life."

About the Creator

Zoey Greco, also known as "The Merhipsy", is an intuitive empath and spiritual coach, whose work connects individuals to the divine guidance and unconditional love that awaits them in every moment from Universal energy.

Merhipsy Healing is an alternative healing practice utilizing energy medicine, spiritual coaching, and intuitive channeling.

Zoey has had her intuitive ability her entire life, as well as her gift for healing. Able to describe her past lives and experiences in the beyond as an infant, all through her childhood she was able to "see" what wasn't there and to "hear" what wasn't said. Renowned psychics instantly recognized her as "gifted" and prophesied that she would one day have a powerful impact on the world.

After many gratifying years in private practice serving a global client base, and teaching at Southwest Institute of Healing Arts, Zoey is currently devoting herself outside of session to creating materials to help others discover and use their gifts. She is in the process of developing her own oracle decks channeled directly from the Divine, as well as courses on intuitive development, oracle card reading, and aura interpretation.

It is the mission of Merhipsy Healing to help individuals step into their purpose, gain clarity on their lives, and find fulfillment and abundance in all forms.

My Personal Review

This 46 card deck is meant to be used as a daily inspirational conversation to have with yourself, when you feel you can't really look past your own personal blocks. It is a well executed Oracle deck that is a traditional Oracle card size, not too small or large. This can in no way be confused for a Tarot deck. I wasn't really aware of what to expect with this deck, but kept an open mind, as always. It is a gorgeous addition to my current collection, and I have enjoyed the portability and simplicity of this deck. This was obviously a deck for those who like affirmations or might need something to meditate on. These cards are also very practical to use for a reading and even longer spreads. I would look at this deck as a good daily draw type of card to work with/through, or a nice addition after a reading to reaffirm what is going on or what to focus on. The short, but profound messages on each of the card's meanings are a good meditation or journaling prompt, as well as be able to stand in as an oracle.

The cards have a beautiful collage style that is psychedelic, modern, with colors dancing together between vibrant and subdued tones. They each have a title of the card that matches a description within the included guidebook.

As the cards bring awareness to various aspects of life, I find that they allow one to take just a minute to think about the message, perhaps altering their mental energy and focus on the message that allows you to dive a bit deeper. I am not usually a fan of collage style decks, but the energy in this deck is personal, fun, and extremely different from other collage decks. There are elements that are blended from nature and also space. All are done in such a fun manner, that you can see the thought put into each of the cards. It literally is so beautiful and well-done. The colors stand out, and I really love the dance between the more muted and vibrant colors together. These can also be used as a simple affirmation deck, but I love using them as an oracle.

I have been using it consistently since I received the decks, and have added them to my work in all facets. As a daily card drawing, for the weekly card drawings, for client readings, as an addition to add more clarity to email readings. I find these to be very versatile and such a beautiful working deck.

There are 46 cards, which is a nice and meaty size for an indie deck. There are many different types of topics covered with the deck, so it has a lot of options and depth in order to conduct longer spreads (like 10 cards +). They also pair very well with other decks that I have and add a nice little finishing touch to readings. I have used these for my downloadable guides and they look so beautiful with other decks, such as the Threads of Fate and Ethereal Visions Tarot.

The backs are an intricate design that is geometric and unique. The cards have various designs and also moods, it feels like. Some have a lot more detail but the artwork is so beautiful and intricate - all of the images flow seamlessly in the cards. They are extremely cohesive and all have the same vibe. The cards have a small white border that doesn't detract from the artwork with contrasting white text in various fonts.

The card stock is not very thick, smooth and slick to shuffle, slightly shiny finish, and allows you get a nice bend without cracking the card stock. The gilding on the edges is a nice touch, especially for a 1st edition and print of this deck. Shuffling these cards is nice and smooth, and the size is also fun to hold in the hand - not as wide as Hay House cards, but not as small as a bridge size deck. The deck includes a beautiful hard lift top box that holds the 62 page guidebook and all 46 cards together. The box even has some nice foil accents, which again lends to a lush quality for an indie production.

There is nothing garish, scary, or dark in the images, so these are appropriate for any one and even the most sensitive clients/people to use them. There is some nudity, but nothing that is offensive, and it appears to be done with a lot of love and intention. The card images fit the card titles and descriptions in the guidebook. I even let my children use these and don't have to worry that they will be scared or confused. These cards do call you out sometimes, but as I have soon learned about Zoey, the messages are infused with love. There is also no strong language that would offend others.

The guidebook is so fun! The messages are quick, and also very much like a truth bomb. They all include a beautiful and empowering affirmation to help you move past certain things that may be keeping you a bit stuck or where you feel you need extra guidance. Some of the messages are even funny. Definitely a different and more realistic deck than most of the puppy breath and rainbows decks of yesteryear. These cards are a good mix between Tarot and Angel decks. They bring intuitive hits, while also calling you out on your blockages.

Here are some more pictures of this vibrant creation:

I am grateful to have been gifted this deck as it has added a beautiful element to my readings. It has brought so much loveliness to my work. But the best gift has been getting to know Zoey better and connecting with her and her beautiful work.

Overall, I found this to be a surprisingly thoughtful and useful Oracle deck, which has quickly earned a place in my regular work and daily meditations. It is an amazing addition to my collection and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a more well-thought out deck that is easy to pick up and use, or anyone who is tired of the mass produced regurgitated rainbow sprinkled cards.

My overall opinion is that this deck is a 5 star choice.

Artwork - 5 stars

Card stock - 5 stars

Ease - 5 stars

Guidebook -5 stars
