Inner Landscape Oracle Deck

Hello, soul friends!

Today's review is covering a deck that I found in a swap group and thought was very interesting, so I purchased it without researching too much about it. Just was drawn to the artwork and thought it would be a fun addition to my current collection.

I hope you enjoy my review and generous pictures!

Inner Landscape Oracle Deck

I saw this offered up in one of the many Swap/Sell card deck groups I am a part of on Facebook, and I love catching fun additions that I haven't seen before or that are not part of my current collection. I have been trying to focus on decks that I actually really love and not just going with what is trendy or popular. This is more of an oracle/affirmation deck. I couldn't find much information on it. I thought it was a nice addition to what I already had in my collection. It stood out with the beautiful artwork that really captivated me. There wasn't any information that I could find on the creator, so I have not included a section on who created it, but the website I could find is listed below. The size is really what makes this deck stand out. It is so tiny and cute!

Here is the description from the website:

Inner landscape Oracle is a 50 cards bridge size (2.25 in x 3.5 in) deck, that comes in a thin cardboard box.

It’s inspired by nature, my dreams and Jungian psychology. I hope it will help you to connect with your subconsciousness and gain insight into your inner landscape.

About half of the illustrations for it were created in March 2017 when I took part in an Instagram challenge run by amazing @otmoraclecards. That was a crazy creative month! All illustrations were painted with acrylics and gouache in a vintage book that I re-purposed for my art journal. I like how in some cards you can still see some words shining through the paint giving some new layers of meanings.

My Personal Review

This deck is meant to be used as a daily inspirational conversation to have with yourself, when you feel you can't really look past your own personal blocks. It is a simple affirmation deck that is pocket sized. This can in no way be confused for a Tarot deck. I wasn't really aware of what to expect with this deck, but kept an open mind, as always. It is a gorgeous addition to my current collection, and I have enjoyed the portability and simplicity of this deck. This was obviously a deck for those who use their intuition and want to connect deeper or in new ways. These cards are also very practical to use for a reading but are better to be more of an afterthought or addendum. I would look at this deck as a good daily draw type of card to work through, or a nice addition after a reading to reaffirm what is going on or what to focus on. The cards are detailed but also simple enough to use with just your intuition.

The cards have meaningful and thorough little messages, allowing one to take just a minute to think about the message, perhaps altering their mental energy and focus on the message that allows you to dive a bit deeper. The artwork is such a show stopper. It literally is so beautiful and well-done. Whoever put this together is a talented artist who has a real natural talent. The depth, colors, and details really bring a new dimension to the cards. I love the symbolism and also the connection between Lenormand (subtle, but I see it on some of the cards). The colors stand out, and I really love the blend of light and dark colors. Although the overall tone of the deck brings a lot of depth. The cards are mostly the artist's images with a simple title that identifies each of the cards. No borders are added to the cards.

The size of the cards is actually what makes this deck stand out. They are a nice bridge size, almost. I have been adding more tiny card decks to my collection and am loving the option of portability. The dimensions are 2.25"w x 3.5"h, which is a bit smaller than a traditional tarot deck size. But I love it. These are perfect to travel with, and I enjoy throwing them in my purse with my small Aquarian Tarot, the Healing Hands Oracle and I am good to go. There are 50 cards in this deck. There are many different types of topics covered with the deck, so it has a lot of choice, which makes it a wonderful working deck with all of the different aspects touched on. They also pair very well with other decks that I have and add a nice little finishing touch to readings. I have been adding them into my client email readings and find the work to be a good addition but also that helps bring direct clarity to my clients.

The backs are a simple infinity symbol that is reversable, although these cards do not have reverse meanings in the online guidebook that I was given access to. The meanings are also quite simplistic, so they do encourage you to use your intuition more and also to devise your own meanings.

The card stock is not very thick, smooth to shuffle, slightly matte finish, and allows you get a nice bend without cracking the card stock. Shuffling these cards is nice and smooth, and the size is also fun to hold in the hand. The finish allows for great pictures without any glare. This also makes the deck very slick with shuffling and smooth. No catching, scratching, or flaking edges. The deck I received had no guidebook, but there is a guidebook online that has quick meanings to the cards. I think this is a deck to create a relationship with and devise your own meanings or expand on what is the intention from the creator.

There are some darker cards, and the "FUCK" card, but it is something that I think is a fun addition to my work. I haven't found that this would be uncomfortable for me to use with various clients, as I think the messages are something that does need to be heard or used at moments. Like Tarot, this won't always just let you remain stuck in certain patterns or not address blockages that may be keeping you from reaching your full potential.

As these were a part of an art project, you can see that these cards have a lot of meaning to the creator, so I do enjoy looking at things through the lens of the creator. Some of the symbolism is universal, others are creative ways of viewing traditional themes. I do think that it is a beautiful deck that brings a new layer to my work with clients, as well as my own personal journey.

The deck included a small tuck box that can keep the 50 cards in it. It is a traditional quality box, so nothing as nice as a Hay House lift top, or a nice bag for carrying around. I know most tuck boxes don't withstand a lot of use and traditionally show wear and tear quickly, so this deck would probably be best kept in a bag for traveling.

Here are some more pictures of this vibrant creation:

Overall, I found this to be a surprisingly thoughtful and well made little deck that is part art piece and part divination tool, which has quickly earned a place in my regular work and daily meditations. It is an amazing addition to my collection and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a more well-thought out deck that is easy to pick up and use, or to encourage your intuitive growth. I am not sure if the deck is still available to purchase, but if you can find it, I definitely recommend picking it up.

My overall opinion is that this deck is a 5 star choice.

Artwork - 5 stars

Card stock - 5 stars

Ease - 5 stars

Guidebook - 4 stars

I hope that you enjoyed my deck review, and also enjoy other deck reviews that I add to this site. I have a passion for exploring new decks and also finding various ways of connecting to my intuition. I appreciate you checking out my site and taking the time to read my review.
