Hello, soul friends!
Today's review is covering a deck that caught my attention as soon as I saw it on Instagram. I loved the simplistic and funny straight up language on the deck, which of course is very much like the original Rebel Deck, but this is focused on relationships and couples. It is STILL a Rebel Deck through and through. I knew this would also be a good fit for this foul-mouthed gal. I have become friends with the creator of the original version since she sent me her deck, so she reached out again to let me review this deck, as well. The Rebel Decks (both versions) are fun and I loved the generous f bombs. As I have said before, I am eclectic and don't like to add in similar decks. Plus, I love seeing other Indie decks, and checking them out!

Rebel Deck - Couples Edition
I received this deck directly from the creator of the deck, after seeing a few posts on Instagram showing these hilarious cards. I found it to be an intriguing and interesting deck. And how often do you get to see a deck that just straight up calls you out. After seeing a few pictures here and there on her website, I knew I needed to get it and check it out for myself. Loved the simplicity and also the fact that it is an independently published deck.

My Personal Review
This 60-card deck is meant to be used as an Oracle deck than a Tarot deck. I wasn't really aware of what to expect with this deck, so upon opening it up I was a bit surprised at how blunt it was. I loved the simple color scheme and how they have messages on both sides of the card. The fact that the deck is prefaced with a warning, is absolute gold to me. It literally tells you to Brace Yourself!
As this is intended to be more of a cut through the crap and listen to the messages type of deck, I enjoyed the fact that you can almost use it as an affirmation card, or just an overall clarity type of card to pull. I think the edition being focused on couples can help cut through some of the confusion when it comes to relationships and maintaining them in this busy day-to-day life. There are some really fun prompts that can open up some discussions that may be necessary to things shifting and evolving within the relationship.
The cards are simple in messages but pack a real punch! It isn't the f-bombs or generous potty words scattered throughout but the lovely way that it brings you back down to the core of where you need to stop getting in your own way. They also encourage more communication, active participating in your relationship, while also calling you out on your bs. I think they are a wonderful deck for those who don't mind being called out a bit. Relationships take two people being proactive in the nurturance and sustaining a good, as well healthy relationship. And I feel this is a fun tool to use for that!
The cards come in white with four colors (pink, orange, purple, and blue) with a simple message on the front and a little cute crossed out unicorn with some extra flair on the white backs of the cards.
The card stock is not very thick, semi-matte finish, slick to shuffle, and allows you get a nice bend without cracking the card stock. The finish really helps make the cards shuffle easily without sticking or scratching. The size of the cards was an average tarot size. Not too large, and not too small. The cards also came with a fishnet bag (which I have never seen before!). No guidebook is included as the cards are meant to be used with your own intuition and they are already pretty straight up.
After speaking with the creator of the deck, I was much more aware of reason why they wanted to create a deck like this. There was a bit of a need for a deck that cuts through the fluffy unicorn messages. While those are wonderful when you need a pick me up, or reassurance that you will get where you would like, but it can leave you a bit deflated if you are in the middle of your mayhem. This deck cuts through that and just straight up tells you what is up. Relationships can be a complicated space to really be able to connect sometimes when life gets in the way. Romance is easy to forget, and these cards do help open the door to the tough or touchy conversations. I think that they really can add an element of fun when it comes to opening up to your partner in a safe way.
While it may not be for everyone or work well with those who are a bit more sensitive, I found it to be a perfect fit that worked well with my sense of humor, my potty mouth, and also my no-holds-barred type of communication style. This is something that helps me connect certain difficult discussions with my spouse and also reminds us that we are in this together.
All in all, I really have enjoyed the deck so much thus far and can't wait to bust it out with clients. I have had a few clients that really enjoy the funny messages, as well as the reminder.

Overall, I think this was a much needed and well-executed deck. Simple, but straight to the point. I highly recommend it!
My overall opinion is that this deck is a 4 star choice.
