Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom Oracle Cards by Christiane Northrup

Hello, soul friends!

Today's review is covering a deck that caught my attention when I noticed it on Hay House's website. I couldn't find a lot of pictures or information online, so decided to risk it and buy them. The artwork was different and I didn't have another Women's based oracle deck, so felt drawn to pick them up.

I hope you enjoy my review and generous pictures!

Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom Oracle Cards

I purchased this deck from Hay House during one of their sales and bought it on a whim. I couldn't find a lot about it online, but was interested in the cards. It was first published in 2016.

Amazon's description is:

The Women’s Bodies, Women’s Wisdom Healing Cards were created by Christiane Northrup, M.D., to help women reach clarity, fulfillment, and success in each of five major life areas: Fertility and Creativity, Partnership, Self-Expression, Self-Care and Nurturance, and the development of an Enlightened Mind and Heart. This beautiful deck includes 50 oracle cards, each with a unique illustration on one side and a detailed explanation of its meaning on the other, and an instruction booklet that offers practical ways to access intuitive, grounded information on a number of issues. In this new edition, artwork from artist Jena DellaGrottaglia lends new energy, and an aesthetic at once fresh and timeless, to this classic set of archetypes and life themes. "True health is only possible when we understand the unity of our minds, emotions, spirits, and physical bodies and stop striving for perfection," says Dr. Northrup. These cards are an inspiring resource for bringing our selves into unity and moving toward ever more vibrant health.

My Personal Review

This 50-card deck is meant to be used as a daily inspirational conversation to have with yourself and oracle deck. This can in no way be confused for a tarot deck. I wasn't really aware of what to expect with this deck, so upon opening it up I was a bit intrigued by the messages and also the ethereal artwork. Although, I don't think I can use this deck in a practical reading, the messages are interesting. I have used them as a addition to other reading spreads, and find the messages to be encouraging and gentle.

The artwork was something that had called me with this deck, and I was not disappointed by the soft, ethereal and magical illustrations. I enjoy the interesting depictions on each of the cards, and they evoke a strong reaction that is calming and soothing. As I stated above, I don't have a lot of feminine based decks to work with and I found it as a beautiful addition to use with my clients. I have enjoyed the messages and also the information that was included in each of the cards.

The cards have brief messages, allowing one to take just a minute to think about the message. These are great for using your intuition, but also have a nice extended message with information on each of the different aspects or suits included in the guidebook. The guidebook is much like most Hay House products, and fits perfectly within the card deck box.

I found a lot of the messages to be very inclusive and also have nicely detailed messages that brighten up your day. The information that Christiane added is also helpful in connecting to the energies, as well as the gentle reminders to keep in mind or focus on. I have used the messages to help bring me some clarity, as well as giving my other cards a bit of a break. I enjoy the variety and the various suits included.

As you can see from my pictures, the cards have an image on one side with the card name, and a corresponding number from each of the suits. This reminded me of the layout of the Mind/Body Cards, with the same sort of suits and themes for the entire deck. The backs are a pretty image of a woman that is reversible, but I am not sure how I would use a reversed meaning for these cards. The size of the cards is quite a bit larger than a traditional tarot card and the overall product dimensions: 5.5 x 4.1 x 1.2 inches and Hay House is who publishes the deck.

The card stock is thick, matte, and allows you get a nice bend without cracking the card stock. The only issues I run into a lot of Hay House decks, are the edges are prone to quick rubbing and cracking. They don't bend too much, or hold the bend. I like the matte finish, and find it to be very nice for photos, but it is hard to shuffle due to the matte finish. As the cards are thick, they feel more luxurious than other Hay House productions.

Overall, I think it is a unique deck to add in to your collection if you are seeking new methods to connect to the wisdom within the feminine. This is a refreshing and soothing deck that has beautiful and delicate artwork, that incorporates very interesting information and meanings. I think anyone can pick up this deck and start using it, and feel that it brings a different element to readings.

Enjoy the extra pictures of this beautiful deck:

Overall, I found this to be an unusually surprisingly deck, but I didn't find that I could use it in my day to day work or with clients. Perhaps this is better suited as an affirmation type of deck to do daily work and healing, and not utilize as an oracle deck.

My overall opinion is that this deck is a 3.5 star choice.

Artwork - 4 stars

Card stock - 5 stars

Ease - 2 stars

Guidebook - 3 star

I hope that you enjoyed my deck review, and also enjoy other deck reviews that I add to this site. I have a passion for exploring new decks and also finding various ways of connecting to my intuition. I appreciate you checking out my site and taking the time to read my review.

Happy Reading!
