Affirmators! Cards

Hello, soul friends!

Today's review is covering a deck that I received as a gift last year during Christmas. My best friend has this deck and I thought it was super cute. It was a fun deck to add to my collection.

I hope you enjoy my review and generous pictures!

Affirmators! Cards

I got this deck from a Holiday gift exchange and thought it was an interesting approach to an affirmation deck. It was a unique addition to my collection, as it stands out with the funny and straight up approach.

Amazon's description is:

“Even pessimists like a little positivity, so comedian Suzi Barrett created these inspirational-but-not-cheesy affirmation cards. Providing the fun of a horoscope with a little less woo-woo, and full of positive affirmations, this whimsical box will help you help yourself, no shamanistic consult required!

About the author

Suzi Barrett is an actor/writer living in Los Angeles. She performs and teaches at the Upright Citizens Brigade theatre, and plays Kirby's mom on the Disney XD show "Kirby Buckets." Other TV credits include "Drunk History," "@Midnight," "How I Met Your Mother," and a few million commercials for everything from Progressive (car insurance) to Esurance (also car insurance). Writing credits include "Wipeout," "America's Next Weatherman," and many secret love letters to her dog. She's currently developing a pilot based on her web series "I Hate California," and can be seen in the Christopher Guest movie "Mascots." She also apparently LOVES quotation marks.

My Personal Review

This 50-card deck is meant to be used as a daily inspirational conversation to have with yourself, when you feel you can't really look past your own personal blocks. This can in no way be confused for an oracle or Tarot deck, and I didn't feel that I could use it as one, anyway. I wasn't really aware of what to expect with this deck, but kept an open mind, as I had seen it used by close friends. This was obviously a deck for those who like affirmations or something to meditate on. These cards were not practical to use for a reading - more of like an afterthought or addendum.

The artwork is a cute mixture of animals and items that are animated. It was originally published in 2015 by Knock Knock. It is bright without being overly busy. The cards are clean, crisp, and minimalistic. There is whimsical quality to the artwork. The front includes a message. The backs are a rabbit riding a unicorn with a rainbow and a black background.

The cards have fun and thorough little messages, allowing one to take just a minute to think about the message, perhaps altering their mental energy and focus on the message that allows you to dive a bit deeper. They offer great reminders that aren't overly cheesy.

The size of the cards is quite a bit larger than a traditional tarot card, but smaller than some Hay House cards and the overall product dimensions: 1.2 x 3.8 x 4.8 inches and Knock Knock is who publishes the deck.

The card stock is thick, matte, and allows you get a nice bend without cracking the card stock. Shuffling these cards is nice and smooth. They are slick and smooth, and don't stick together. The box is a slide box that has a ribbon to pull up the cards when they are in the box. The box is thick and a good quality.

I think the deck is a cute way to reset the day on a positive and healthy note! I loved the messages, as they are inspiring, funny, and also versatile to use as a bit of an affirmation. As there was no guidebook or booklet to help you further connect to the cards, I am not sure you could use it for a reading alone.

The was no guidebook or booklet included with the deck, as it is meant to be used as an affirmation deck.

Overall, I found this to be a surprisingly fun and cute deck.

My overall opinion is that this deck is a 3 star choice.

Artwork - 3 stars

Card stock - 3 stars

Ease - 4 stars

Guidebook - N/A
