The Law of Attraction Cards

Hello, soul friends!

Today's review is covering a deck that I picked up on one of my trips to a local shop in the Houston area. Figured it would be a fun deck to add to my collection.

I hope you enjoy my review and generous pictures!

The Law of Attraction Cards

I purchased this deck from a local metaphysical shop in the Houston area during one of their clearance sales and bought it on a whim. They had it on clearance as it was used as a Demo Deck. It was a unique addition to my collection, as it stands to be used as an affirmation deck.

Amazon's description is:

“Although you’ve always been surrounded by the evidence of the Law of Attraction, a conscious awareness of this powerful Law will be activated within you as you experience these beautiful cards; and your deliberate control of your experience will be dramatically enhanced.“We know that you are meant to live a joyful life; and we also know that conscious, deliberate self-empowerment is essential to be able to live a joyful life.“It pleases us to know that theses cards will remind you that you do have personal control of your own life experience.”

About the authors

New York Times best-selling authors Esther and Jerry Hicks produce the leading edge Abraham-Hicks teachings, which are the original source material for the current Law of Attraction wave that is sweeping the world. The Abraham-Hicks teachings were the original inspiration for the "The Secret," and they are also the 21st century inspiration for thousands of books, films, essays and lectures that are creating a global paradigm shift in consciousness. Esther Hicks has co-authored eight books with her husband, Jerry Hicks. Together, they have presented Law of Attraction and Vortex of Attraction workshops for Abraham-Hicks Publications in up to 60 cities per year since 1987. Hay House, Inc. published the Hicks' best-selling book, "Ask and It is Given," in 2004. Since then, they have also published five more New York Times bestsellers: - "Money, and The Law of Attraction" (#1 on NY Times Best Sellers List) - "Amazing Power of Deliberate Intent" - "Law of Attraction" - "Astonishing Power of Emotions" - "The Vortex" Esther was born in Coalville, Utah. She married her current husband, Jerry, in 1980 and has one daughter by her former marriage. Currently, Esther travels the world with Jerry, speaking and teaching and writing about the Law of Attraction and the Vortex of Creation.

My Personal Review

This 60-card deck is meant to be used as a daily inspirational conversation to have with yourself. This can in no way be confused for an oracle or Tarot deck, and I didn't feel that I could use it as one, anyway. I wasn't really aware of what to expect with this deck, but kept an open mind, as I had heard a lot about Esther and Jerry Hicks and their work. This was obviously a deck for those who like affirmations or something to meditate on. These cards were not practical to use for a reading - more of like an afterthought or addendum.

The artwork is a bit curious. It was originally published in 2008, so some the artwork felt a little dated to me. It is bright and busy. A big change from newer affirmations that are clean, crisp, and minimalistic. There is bold images ranging from childlike to more complex images that come alive on the cards. The back has a longer message included. So these cards don't have a clear "back" with a similar images.

The cards have brief messages, allowing one to take just a minute to think about the message, perhaps altering their mental energy and then you can flip the card to the back to show an extended message that allows you to dive a bit deeper into the front of the card's message. They offer great reminders. As I am unfamiliar with their work, I am not sure how much these cards relate to their successful books and teachings.

I believe it is a nice way to add positive thoughts to a world that often seems plagued with far too much negativity. As you can see from my pictures, the cards have an image on one side with the card name, and then a small passage on the back to help inspire. The size of the cards is quite a bit larger than a traditional tarot card and the overall product dimensions: 5.5 x 4.1 x 1.2 inches and Hay House is who publishes the deck.

The card stock is thick, not very shiny, and allows you get a nice bend without cracking the card stock. The only issues I run into a lot of Hay House older decks, are the edges rubbing and cracking. They don't bend too much, or hold the bend, so that is a plus. I am not a fan of shiny decks (as I have stated many times before), so this one has points deducted based on that.

It was a perfect way to reset the day on a positive and healthy note! I loved the messages, as they are inspiring, gentle, and also versatile to use as a bit of an affirmation. As there was no guidebook or booklet to help you further connect to the cards, I was a bit unenthusiastic to use this deck often. It went unused for a lot of the time I owned it. I finally decided to sell it to someone who would actually connect and use it.

The was no guidebook or booklet included with the deck.

Overall, I found this to be a surprisingly inspiring deck, but I didn't find that I could use it in my day to day work or with clients.

My overall opinion is that this deck is a 3 star choice.

Artwork - 3 stars

Card stock - 2 stars

Ease - 4 stars

Guidebook - N/A

I hope that you enjoyed my deck review, and also enjoy other deck reviews that I add to this site. I have a passion for exploring new decks and also finding various ways of connecting to my intuition. I appreciate you checking out my site and taking the time to read my review.
