Journey to the Goddess Realm

Hello, soul friends!

After a brief hiatus, as life got a bit too busy, I decided to get back to completing some of these deck reviews I had on my list to do before I forget to add them on here. I am not going in any order, so that is helpful. Today's review is covering a deck that I found very interesting when I saw it in a Swap group. As if I needed another Goddess-centric deck! It's vivid imagery, bold colors, and standout artwork set my deck collector's heart afire.

I hope you enjoy my review and generous pictures!

Journey to the Goddess Realm Oracle

I purchased this beauty on Amazon. It was a fun and different type of Goddess deck, and included some fun and new goddesses with a different spin and perspective on them. I liked the artistically detailed and colorful cards. The almost have an art nouveau vibe, but a much brighter and bolder touch!

Amazon's description is:

As you journey with the Goddesses, call on these ancient deities for help with all your daily decisions and challenges. Inspiring you with their ancient wisdom, they will help you strengthen your intuition and guide you toward enhanced conscious awareness. Journey to the Goddess Realm 39-card deck includes 36 Goddess cards, three Confirmation cards, and a 48-page booklet. This pantheon of Goddesses depicted with vibrant artwork includes: Ishtar, Isis, Kali, Quan Yin, Rhiannon and others. Includes 39 cards and a 48-page guidebook.

About the author

Lisa Porter is a self-taught artist and illustrator. She was raised in the central wheat belt area of Western Australia, in the small farming town of Northampton. She has drawn and painted all through her life, employing a diversity of methods and techniques. Her creative explorations have also led her into many philosophical and spiritual areas.

My Personal Review

This Journey to the Goddess Realm 39-card deck includes 36 Goddess cards, three Confirmation cards, and a 48-page booklet. It includes a lot of well-known and obscure goddesses. The artwork that depicts them is congenial, light, and also rife with symbolism tied to each Goddesses' story.

This pantheon of Goddesses depicted with vibrant artwork includes: Lilith, Spider Woman, Ishtar, Isis, Kali, Quan Yin, Rhiannon, Aphrodite, and others. Lisa Porter has brought us high-powered feminine energy from pantheons in all parts of the globe, including Japan, Wales, Crete, Russia, Greece, Ireland, Norway, Egypt, India, Africa, Scotland, the Arctic, North America, Italy, and Australia. In my book, that gives her bonus points for being inclusive of many cultures. Also, I really like the snapshot Lisa gives us of the history and cultural background of each goddess and her comments on the symbolic details she has included in the images. And speaking of images, the art is wonderfully alive with vibrant color and symbolic details, many of which are explained in the guidebook.

In addition to the individual 36 Goddess Cards, there are three Activation Cards in this deck.

1 - Negation/ Shadow

2 - Affirmation/ Yes

3 - Revelation/ Non- Duality

I never really used these when I was using the deck, so I usually would just put them to the side if I was drawing or using the deck for a reading. I am sure the cards are beneficial for those who are searching for extra guidance, but in my own spreads, I felt no need to use them as extra indicators.

I love the fresh images of this deck and personally, they all felt good to me. Nothing super off-putting in the images. This deck will appeal to anyone wishing to increase intuition and to get in touch with goddess energies. It’s bright, cheerful. The deck goes beyond a simple oracle deck and can be a great tool for your spiritual journey, especially when trying to connect to feminine energies. The size of the cards is quite a bit larger than a traditional tarot card and the overall product dimensions: 3.7 x 0.9 x 5.9 inches. U.S. Games Systems Inc. is who publishes the deck.

The card stock is not super thick, slight matte, and allows you get a nice bend without cracking the card stock. They don't bend too much, or hold the bend. I also love that these beauties are great to take pictures of since they are a slight matte finish that doesn't take away from the beauty of the artwork. I find it to be a beautiful, although also intense deck. Isn't that how Goddesses are anyway?

The backs are an interesting mandala that is reversible. Which is something I enjoy seeing, as these cards do have a Reversed meaning included in the guidebook. I disliked the box. Tuck boxes are not my favorite, as they end up getting really beat up if you like to keep your decks in their boxes. Plus, there is hardly any space to get the cards and guidebook to fit perfectly each time.

There are no images in the booklet, but there’s a lot of great information here. Lisa Porter suggests that you let whatever resonates with you personally to decide how many cards to use or what spread will work best. She also says that after using these cards you may experience opening of your Third Eye and increased intuition. The booklet that comes with this deck begins with an introduction that explains about Goddesses and how they can assist us. The booklet describes each goddess card with their story, keywords and information about their shadow aspects. The booklet also explains how and why to use these cards. - "This is an oracle of divination that works with energy fields just outside the third dimensional awareness. As with all oracles, the cards will reveal exactly where your conscious/subconscious energy field resonates the strongest."

Overall, I found this to be an exceptionally fun and different Goddess deck. It has a lot of helpful information and also provides interesting and insightful readings for those trying to learn to connect with Goddess energy. I enjoyed learning about the various Goddess' backgrounds.

My overall opinion is that this deck is a 3 star choice.

Artwork - 3.5 stars

Card stock - 4 stars

Ease - 3.5 stars

Guidebook - 3 stars

I hope that you enjoyed my deck review, and also enjoy other deck reviews that I add to this site. I have a passion for exploring new decks and also finding various ways of connecting to my intuition. I appreciate you checking out my site and taking the time to read my review.

Happy Reading!
