My Personal Review
The Winged Enchantment Oracle is a 50-card deck includes a 72-page booklet. The dimensions are 4.1 x 1.3 x 6 inches and Blue Angel is who publishes the deck. This deck was so different from any of the decks I owned at the time, but I would compare the artwork to the Winged Enchantment deck. I just was drawn to the powerful artwork. It really love all of Josephine Wall's artwork.
The images are so striking and each card tells it's own story. The amount of details and colors in each card is truly striking. The keywords on the deck fronts are meant to encourage you to connect intuitively to the images, but some felt a little off for the images. They almost felt like little logos. Or small mantras to keep in mind.
Whether you use the cards for divination, meditation, or just enjoy the beauty of the paintings, these cards will prove uplifting and inspirational. The companion guidebook is beautifully written, albeit short in description. This deck will take you anywhere you are ready to go, if you just release the need to control.
I love the shape-shifting art. I felt that it invites us to spread our wings and venture on our own soul journey. The guidebook/booklet contains the descriptions for each card, listed in numerical order. The card faces have the card number. The card backs are a lot of multi-colored butterflies and moths, but do not allow for reversals.
The card stock is super thick, matte, silky smooth, and allows you get a nice bend without cracking the card stock. They don't bend too much, or hold the bend. I also love that these beauties are great to take pictures of since they are a matte finish that doesn't take away from the beauty of the artwork. I find it to be a beautiful and a unique addition to any collection.
The lift-top box is a sturdy and completes the beautiful details of this deck. The cardstock is such a thick and silky finish and I felt no detail was spared in the physical finishing touches of this deck.
The guidebook was simple, haiku styled information, so I didn't really connect with it as much as I could have. I feel that this deck is perfect for someone who is comfortable enough devising their own meanings and is also into avian messages. I am learning to like how Angela wrote the accompanying guidebook, allowing a lot more freedom for interpretation.
One excellent way to get to know the deck is to study the card for a few minutes, then read the page in the guidebook, then study the card again, and read the guidebook page again. I enjoyed studying the images and linking the many aspects and details to spiritual symbolism and color significance.
Overall, I found this to be an exceptionally beautiful and different Oracle deck. The artwork is simply breathtaking. I could look through each card and still find missing or hidden elements that weren't visible the first time I used it.
My overall opinion is that this deck is a 4 star choice.
Artwork - 5 stars
Card stock - 4 stars
Ease - 3 stars
Guidebook - 2 stars
