The Moon Deck

Hello, soul friends!

Today's review is covering a deck that had caught my attention as soon as I saw it! It's original concept seemed in line with things I was exploring and I was looking at finding all of the tools to help me carry on my education and journey. I pre-ordered a couple decks (one for me and my bff) as soon as I could. And waited for this beauty to arrive.

I hope you enjoy my review and generous pictures!

The Moon DeCk

This atypical deck caught my attention as it was so different from other oracle decks I was using, and I thought it would give me a new way of focusing my readings on more of a Moon Phase or Moon-centric type of reading. There wasn't much online at the time, so I just pre-ordered and waited patiently!

From The Moon Deck Website:

The Moon Deck is an interactive tool for connecting to your intuition through the path of self-love and ritual. Created to foster community and healing, this entire set is inspired by the cyclical beauty of the moon and the inherent wisdom of women. It shares insights on growth, purpose, transformation, practice, and creativity - with freedom for personal exploration.

The Moon Deck can be worked with in a similar format to tarot, as an oracle guide, or as a daily tool for reflection and meditation. The Moon Deck as a full set with its hand-crafted wooden box is a special limited Collectors Edition. You can also purchase The Moon Deck in a natural cotton, hand silk-screened pouch. This oracle deck is created with a local eco-friendly printer using recycled paper and plant-based ink. Each deck is complete with 44 cards + guidebook, and is infused with love and prayers.

My Personal Review

This is a 44 card Moon deck featuring beautiful artwork and affirmation type phrases that allow yo to reconnect to the Divine feminine and Moon cycle. As I went through the deck the first time, I was taken aback by the beautiful artwork. I only saw a few pictures online of the prototype and had to wait quite a few months to receive my copies of the deck. It came in a beautiful wooden box, with a lovely guidebook, and the cards.

With mystical details and beautiful artwork, I really enjoyed this approach to a unique deck. It was a pricier deck for me, but it was one that I was excited to receive and was not disappointed when it finally arrived. The guidebook is chock full of amazing interpretations, reading spreads, and moon phase based intentions. I found it to be a great purchase. I love the colors, images, and artwork that was created for this deck.

The card stock is not super thick, but lacks the shinier finish that newer decks I have in my collection have, and also allows you get a nice bend without cracking the card stock. From their website:

"PLEASE NOTE: The Moon Deck is printed on recycled paper with plant-based ink locally in NY. This is a different printing process than most other decks and gives it a warm natural feel that may gently reveal your touch over time. This is totally natural. Because the wood box is handmade, each box is unique and may slightly vary in color, wood grain, shape, or quality of the Moon Deck logo. Please trust your box chose you and is the perfect magical house for your deck. Our box maker is in India and we have worked together very closely to ensure its beauty and charm."

I also love that these beauties are great to take pictures of since they are a slight matte finish that doesn't take away from the beauty of the artwork. The only issue I ran into was my cards cracking around the edges, so I had to shuffle super gently, and pluck the cards out one at a time. I was a little sad to see some of the card edges fraying a bit on my deck. So, I have tried to be as gentle with it as possible.

The backs of the deck were also as beautiful as the card images. Reversible and fluid throughout the deck. I love the moon and galaxy theme. It is such a photogenic deck. All in all, I found uses for the deck as a bit of an affirmation deck and helps me connect to the feminine wisdom that I tend to overlook a lot of the time.

I also found it to be helpful for my clients that are looking for extra self-care guidance and assistance with suggestions that do help. I don't always reach for it, but have found that it is especially helpful during my moon rituals, moon cycle, and for daily draws when I feel a disconnection with my feminine self.

The authoresses did a fabulous job of adding some amazing magic and explanations to the deck, as well. The Moon Deck can be worked with in a similar fashion to tarot, however with more freedom for personal interpretation and action-based rituals that boost daily self-love using creativity, yoga, meditation, journaling, and other self-care practices.

Through the power of ritual and honest self-discovery, this healing deck provides an inspiring guide for women of all ages, to connect to our intuitive wisdom, awaken our creative spirit, and feel at home in our body. The accompanying booklet will also brief women on how to start their own ‘Sister Moon Circle' where they can form healthy bonds and deeper trust with a supportive community of other women.

The deck includes a well executed and thought-provoking guidebook, that I think really elevated the deck's usage. All in all, I recommend this deck to those who have an affinity for the moon and would like to explore this side of oracle cards.

And since this deck is so beautiful, here are a few more gratuitous shots of this gorgeous babe!

Overall, I found this to be an exceptionally well executed Indie Deck. The artwork is unique, ethereal, and magical. I just love the amount of love that went into each card's image. I recommend this deck to any moon aficionado!

My overall opinion is that this deck is a 4 star choice.

Artwork - 5 stars

Card stock - 3 stars

Ease - 4 stars

Guidebook - 4 stars
